Oak and engraved stainless steel

A commission to design and make new railings to enhance the appearance and safety of this landmark 18th century bridge. We worked closely with the local community to explore the history and wildlife of the area and they created drawings during art workshops on site. The final design includes their images and words engraved into the rails using the CAM process.

The overall design was deliberately kept simple to reflect the tranquil environment and the oak posts lean outwards to make space for the horse riders who regularly use the bridge.
